On Wednesday, February 20, from 7- 9 pm Hayfork Cooperative presents An Artist’s Perspective at Northern Delights Coffeehouse, 7091 State Highway 3 in Hayfork. This will be a most interesting and entertaining evening of story-telling and acoustic music with Matthew Wallace. Get to know one of Trinity County's emerging local songwriters in a casual and intimate setting as he shares insights and anecdotes about life as a small-town musician. Wallace will also talk about the inspiration of writing and performing, as well as the long journey that led to the release of his first album, Pyramids & Street Corners; recorded, mixed, and mastered at 4th Corner Studios in Hayfork, California.
A Texas native, Matthew Wallace has made his home in the Hayfork Valley for nearly a decade. You may have caught him playing old-time banjo tunes at the farmers market, or picking his ubiquitous resonator guitar on the back porch of Northern Delights, or at open mic night. Maybe you heard him playing Scott Joplin rags on the piano at the Wine and Cheese Gala or singing with local bluegrass band, Steel Wool. Wallace draws from the deep well of American Music, blending folk, gospel, country, rock and roll, and blues into a style that can only be described as 'Countredelic'.
This acoustic concert will be followed by a question and answer session with the artist. Matt’s cds will also be available for purchase at the event. Do come out to meet and hear Matt Wallace at this free event open to all. He “thanks our wonderful community for supporting local music.”
